Clear staff provided Owner Representation to the IDEA Public Charter School for the design and construction of an approximately 30,000 square foot classroom and gymnasium addition in Washington, DC. The addition was tightly scheduled to accommodate a window of construction to minimize disruption to the students, and was engineered to increase efficiency of existing campus buildings. Sustainable elements related to the MEP systems include rain tanks (storm water recapture structure funded by DC DDOE grant) and geothermal wells for heating and cooling. Clear staff managed all aspects of the project, including base building design/construction, interior space design/construction, financing coordination and various site zoning and administrative issues.
